
As grandsons of the famous Swiss watchmaker Raymond Weil, the Bernheim brothers were raised in the Swiss watchmaking tradition and developed a solid expertise while working for the family business. Together, Elie and Pierre Bernheim decided to make exceptional quality time pieces with refined, modern designs at accessible prices so more people can enjoy this unique luxury. They combined their talents and know-how and launched the 88 RUE DU RHONE brand.
Elie Bernheim made a name for himself in Swiss luxury watchmaking when he joined the family business after graduating from the hospitality management school, Ecole Hôtelière, in Lausanne. He has been responsible for global strategy at Raymond Weil for over six years, putting his extensive know-how and entrepreneurial spirit to work for the brand and its values.
In May 2011, inspired by a deep desire to make Swiss luxury watches available to a wider audience, Elie and his brother Pierre created the 88 RUE DU RHONE brand.
As co-founder of 88 Rue de Rhone, Elie is involved in all aspects of the brand’s development but he mainly focuses on the company’s positioning in the market, its international presence and corporate communications. Elie's interest in new technologies has led him to take full responsibility for the brand’s Internet strategy, and social networks in particular. His wide range of marketing expertise is put to good use in developing the collections, from the initial design phase to the finished products, and even the packaging.

After graduating in International Business and Administration from La Haute Ecole de Gestion in Geneva, Pierre has been the Brand Manager for RAYMOND WEIL since 2006, alongside his brother Elie. This position enabled Pierre to travel all around the world and hone all the watch business skills and know-how he needed to launch his own brand, in partnership with his brother Elie.
Given his academic background and professional experience, Pierre focuses his efforts on the global business development of the 88 RUE DU RHONE brand. His in-depth knowledge of the international marketplace and his interest in worldwide distribution make Pierre just the right person to ensure the brand’s success on a global scale. In addition, his gregarious ways and ease with words makes him the ideal spokesman for 88 RUE DU RHONE when dealing with commercial partners. A very hands-on man, Pierre is in his element as co-founder travelling the world and personally meeting with the brand’s key contacts.
Like his brother, Pierre emphasizes the highly accessible aspect of the 88 RUE DU RHONE time pieces: "My brother Elie and I have combined our skills and talents to create a new, independent brand of watches steeped in the tradition of Swiss excellence while remaining decidedly more accessible."
